Adriel offers on-staff Master’s level therapists in the West Liberty, Archbold, and Dublin offices who specialize in working with foster and adoptive youth and their families. Therapeutic services are designed to help youth in the foster care system become better equipped to deal with their specific issues of trauma, loss, abuse and neglect, in a spirit of Christian love. The therapists are a vital part of the treatment team, and are available to attend county SAR and Match meetings, court hearings, and treatment team meetings.

Different treatments include:
Strengths-based therapy with youth and their families to assist the youth with coping skills to improve issues and behaviors, and to empower families to better deal with the family system and structural issues.

Play therapy is offered for younger aged youth who have suffered trauma or loss. Adriel offers client centered treatment that meets the youth where they are and helps them to learn to trust and begin to create positive relationships with others.

In the initial session, the therapist will conduct a diagnostic assessment that will include recommendations for therapy and psychiatric services. If psychiatric services are indicated, Adriel contracts with a state certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and employs a full time registered nurse to provide services. Sessions with the psychiatrist and youth and their adoptive/foster parents will entail a detailed discussion of historical and current data and issues the youth and family are facing. The frequency of both therapeutic and psychiatric sessions will be based on each youth’s individual needs.
