Program Goals The goals of Treatment Foster Care are to offer special-needs youth the opportunity to deal with the issues that caused them to be in placement. The objective is to enhance social functioning through teaching appropriate skills in social interaction, learning, working and problem solving and to return home with their family. Team Approach Adriel believes that change and growth in youth can take place through a well-rounded team approach. Foster parents are an important part of the treatment team. Foster care caseworkers visit foster homes regularly to discuss issues of mutual concern and to provide support. The staff therapist and psychiatrist also have ongoing communication with foster parents to provide insight to the cause and treatment of the youth’s emotional and psychological needs. Who are the youth? Adriel's Foster Care Program serves youth without regard to age, race, sex, color, religion, creed, national origin, or handicap (within a foster home's ability to care for the youth). Referrals Referrals may be made to our foster care program by custodial placing agencies, parents, or legal guardians. Those interested may contact the foster care manager at either the West Liberty office or our Northwest Ohio location.
