Providing quality care for children in the spirit of Christian love

What is Supervised Visitation?

Supervised Visitation is a service provided when a parent is only able to visit with their child(ren) under the supervision of another individual.

Why is this Service Provided?

This service is provided to ensure that parents have an opportunity to maintain contact with their children in a structured environment that is both safe and comfortable for the child.

Where is this Service Provided?

Supervised visitation services are provided at any of our five Ohio Adriel Office Locations: Archbold, Toledo, Van Wert, West Liberty, and Westerville. We also have an additional visitation space located in Defiance.  Arrangements may be made to provide supervised visitation services at off site locations depending on the needs of the family.

When is this Service Provided?

Adriel provides supervised visitation services seven days per week including evenings and weekends.

How does Supervised Visitation Work?

The parent and child(ren) will visit in a private, family-friendly room, monitored by a trained staff member, a visitation monitor. Our visitation rooms are filled with games, toys, books, activities, and comfortable furniture. Adriel provides a relaxed, safe, home-like atmosphere for parents and children to connect. Some of our offices have access to outdoor recreation areas, including outdoor play equipment and activities.  The visitation monitor assigned to the family will observe the visitation, intervene as necessary, enforce ground rules and safety measures,  and provide documentation of the visit.

Who can make a referral?

Adriel accepts referrals from a number of sources including, Children Services Agencies, Family and Juvenile Courts, Guardian Ad Litems (GAL's), and Attorneys.

What are Enhanced Visitation Services?

Enhanced Visitation is a combination of Supervised Visitation and Family Coaching Services that occurs in the family's home. An Adriel Visitation Coach will be assigned to supervise visits, provide parenting coaching to parent(s)/caregiver(s), write a family development plan, communicate with the family’s treatment team, and model appropriate interactions with the children in the family. The Visitation Coach will provide all the services as outlined in the Supervised Visitation Services as well as provide family coaching services.  To learn more about Family Coaching Services Visit our Family Coaching Page.  Enhanced Visitation provides the opportunity for children to visit their parents in their home and for parents to gain needed skills in support of family reunification efforts.
