OhioKAN: Kinship Navigator Program Ohio
Adriel is thrilled to partner with OhioKAN, a statewide flexible and responsive adoption and kinship and navigator in Ohio. Built based on the belief that “families are inherently capable of finding solutions to the circumstances and challenges they face,” the program is designed to combine local knowledge with statewide resources. It enables us to assist children, caregivers, and families as they navigate and connect with all of the resources available locally and statewide.
Dedicated site navigators at Adriel use OhioKAN’s 100% free kinship navigator program in Ohio to help families in the following counties: Allen, Auglaize, Defiance, Fulton, Hancock, Hardin, Henry, Logan, Mercer, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert, Williams.
How the Kinship Navigator Program in Ohio Works
OhioKAN serves as a hub of comprehensive information with all available resources in one place.
The kinship navigator program in Ohio includes a database of resources, a calendar of in-person and virtual events available in the region, and a blog full of helpful topics on virtually all aspects of the kinship and adoption journey.
The program helps close the gap between what is available to kinship and adoptive families in Ohio and what they are actually using. It includes access to financial resources, training and education, and other forms of assistance that might otherwise go unused.
OhioKAN & ODJFS
OhioKAN is a program of Ohio Department of Job & Family Services (ODJFS). ODJFS' mission is “to improve the well-being of Ohio's workforce and families by promoting economic self-sufficiency and ensuring the safety of Ohio's most vulnerable citizens.
