Foster Child Placement in Ohio: How to Help Kids in Foster Care

Adriel's Foster Care Program offers youth in need of out-of-home placement the opportunity to live in a safe and loving home with a family in a community setting. We carefully screen, license, and train prospective foster parents on how to help kids in foster care.

We match the youth with foster families through a team of social workers. We provide foster families with intensive support on how to help kids in foster care attain their goals. The objective is to encourage each youth to be as successful as possible and to reunite them with their family.

Who Are the Kids We Help with Foster Care?

Adriel's Foster Care Program serves youth without regard to age, race, sex, color, religion, creed, national origin, or handicap (within a foster home's ability to care for the youth). We serve children aged birth to 21 years and work on adoption if the child’s return to their family is not possible. Adriel can dually-license families for both foster care and adoption. Foster Care Program Goals

We offer two primary types of foster care: family foster care and treatment foster care. The objective for both is to enhance social functioning through teaching appropriate skills in social interaction, learning, working, and problem-solving, and to return the child home with their family.

Family Foster Care

The goal of family foster care is to offer youth the opportunity to cope with the abuse and/or neglect that resulted in their out-of-home placement.

Treatment Foster Care

The goal of treatment foster care is to offer special-needs youth the opportunity to deal with the issues that resulted in their placement. Foster Parents must have additional qualifications to become Treatment Foster Parents.

Adriel’s Team Approach to Helping Kids in Foster Care

Adriel believes that change and growth in youth can take place through a well-rounded team approach. The team includes foster parents, foster care consultants, and in many cases, staff therapists and psychiatrists.

Foster Parents

Foster parents trained in how to help kids in foster care are a vital part of the treatment team.

Foster Care Consultants

Foster care consultants visit foster homes regularly to discuss issues of mutual concern and to provide support to the children and the foster parents.

Staff Therapists

Staff therapists are available and have ongoing communication with foster parents and children to provide insight to the cause and treatment of the youth’s emotional and psychological needs.
