Who Can Use the Services in Foster Care?
We’re in this for the children. In order for us to fully support the kids, we need to support the people who care for them day in and day out. So if you’re wondering who can use the services in foster care, just think about who children depend on. We offer services for both foster care families and biological families.
Foster Care Services for Foster Families
Foster families need help and support throughout their journey and efforts to help children. We have a team that can deliver that support to all who can use the services in foster care, including (but not limited to):
Foster Child Placement
Adriel's Foster Care Program offers youth in need of out-of-home placement the opportunity to live in a safe and loving home with a family in a community setting.
Foster Parent Training
We provide foster parent training, evaluation, and other support to families licensed through Adriel or other foster care agencies. Our training curriculum helps foster parents understand the children they are helping.
Adoption Facilitation
People choose to foster children for many different reasons, including some who foster with adoption as their ultimate or eventual goal. All of these are people who can use the services in foster care.
Other Programs & Services
Helping children, foster parents, and families is where we spend most of our resources, but there is more we do for those who can use the services in foster care. We have two other categories of programs and services:
Fundraising to Support Our Programs
It takes more than time, energy, and training to provide the level of care and support we offer. It takes money. As a nonprofit, we run fundraising events and campaigns throughout the year.

Continuum of Care
Importantly, the Adriel team works tirelessly to provide support to those who need the foster care services we offer. That comes in the form of advocacy, clinical support, spiritual support, and a special program for young adults who “age out” of foster care.
Foster Care Services for Family Preservation.
A big part of helping children is helping them stay with or reunite with their families.
Family Coaching
A family coach works with the entire family and provides tools and techniques for building and maintaining relationships as a community-based service.
Respite Program
Respite care is short-term, temporary relief for parents or guardians who might otherwise require placement outside the home. Adriel has licensed treatment and family foster homes available for periods up to 30 days.
Supervised Visitation Services
Supervised visitation services for families whose children are in foster care and working toward reunification. Eventually, the goal is to reunite the children with their biological parents or kinship caregivers if possible.
Kinship Care
Another aspect of helping biological parents is providing support to other family members who are serving as kinship caregivers who may be caring for children temporarily or working toward permanent guardianship.
OhioKAN (Kinship & Adoption Navigator)
Adriel is thrilled to partner with OhioKAN, a new statewide flexible and responsive kinship and adoption navigator program designed to assist children, caregivers, and families.
Training & Support
Just like with other foster parents and people who need services in foster care, kinship caregivers can become licensed foster caregivers and receive benefits as a foster home.
